The best result, during the broaching phase, is obtained by means of a perfect sharpening. A wrong sharpening can cause misalignment, lack of concentricity, unacceptable perpendicular lines etc. A wrong cut angle can also cause the broach to break. Sometimes we have to reconstruct the upper tooth rake, as only sharpening would be not enough because the broach would cut only a few and wrongly.
